Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has said he has no plans to leave the team. Earlier, he shared his thoughts on the departure of guard Klay Thompson, who has joined the Dallas Mavericks.
“I can say for sure that I want to be a warrior for life. That’s always been my goal, but life in the NBA is a wild environment. Things can change quickly,” Curry said.
The four-time NBA champion acknowledged the challenges of maintaining a championship-caliber team in the modern NBA landscape. “Klay’s departure was tough, there’s no doubt about it. We built something special together over the years, and I’ll always cherish those moments. But the reality is the league is constantly evolving, and you have to be ready for change.”
Despite the roster turnover, Curry remains committed to Golden State. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I want to win, pure and simple. There’s no satisfaction in just collecting paychecks and doing things. The pressure is always there, and I thrive on that competitive drive to be the best and bring more titles to this organization.”
The 35-year-old superstar stressed that his loyalty to the Warriors franchise is unwavering. "This is where I want to be. These fans, this city, this team, it's everything I've ever known in the NBA, and I can't imagine playing anywhere else. As long as they'll have me, I'll wear a Warriors uniform."
Curry acknowledged that roster turnover is inevitable in the modern NBA, but he believes the Warriors' core of Draymond Green and emerging young talent can keep the team competitive for years to come.
“We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs together, but Draymond and I have a bond that goes beyond basketball. We know what it takes to win at the highest level, and we’re committed to passing that knowledge and experience on to the next generation of Warriors.
The two-time MVP also expressed excitement about the team's recent draft picks and free agent signings, saying he believes the Warriors have the pieces in place to contend for more championships.
“The front office has done a great job of rebuilding the roster and building around our veteran leadership. I see a lot of hungry, talented guys who are eager to learn and win. With the right mentorship and guidance, I know we can continue this momentum for a long time.”
